From The Editor

What precedes a moment of brilliancy is a spark of inspiration. I’m not proclaiming to be the author of brilliant things. However, I am motivated to subjecting myself to the pursuit of such activities. The possibility of stumbling upon a brilliant thing is romantic, and it all starts with a spark.

The search for this spark can sometimes be a herculean labor, one that involves navigating the endless access to literature, concepts, opinions, magazines, textiles, design, architecture, social trends, arts, and style. The world is abundant, and shaping ones corner of said world takes patience, thoughtfulness, and a bit of curration.

This is why Luminis Cultura was created—the desire to stimulate creative thought and pursue the spark of inspiration. I do this by navigating through the abundancies surrounding me. I exist as a brazen gambler, consuming, processing, appreciating, list-making, and meditating on the beauty of this world, taking creative risks and rolling those metaphorical dice. All, so that one day, I would find that spark.

Luminis Cultura is curated, written, and helmed by Brian Murnion—a filmmaker, creative director, poet, and self-proclaimed intellectual scrub from Billings, Montana.
